Seeking to work more directly with clients, John transitioned to the independent agency side of the industry, where his focus shifted to advocacy, relationship building, and tailored insurance planning. Over time, he advanced into agency leadership, serving as an agency manager and co‑founding multiple successful independent insurance agencies. This blend of underwriting insight, operational leadership, and client‑centric service ultimately led to the founding of M Insurance Services—a boutique insurance agency built to deliver clarity, expertise, and long‑term value.

John’s professional journey has been shaped by the influence of exceptional mentors throughout his career. Early on, a mentor encouraged him to pursue a future in insurance through the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) School of Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance program, where he developed a deep understanding of insurance principles and risk management. Another mentor and longtime family friend later provided guidance on agency operations, ethical leadership, and delivering meaningful service to clients.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, John has spent the past fifteen years living in Austin, Texas, where he resides with his wife, Whitney, and their sons, Elliott, Reid, and Beau.
